Fellaini could miss Liverpool clash due to injury on Belgium duty

⛑⛑⛑⛑⛑⛑⛑⛑⛑⛑ Fellaini could miss Liverpool clash due to injury on Belgium duty

International breaks have proven an annoyance for Jose Mourinho in the past and that is the case once more, following Marouane Fellaini's injury when representing Belgium. Romelu Lukaku had already been ruled out of representing his country through injury but during their 4-3 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fellaini exited early with fitness concerns.

The Manchester United man left the field after 29 minutes and appeared to be suffering from considerable discomfort in his left knee, with coach Roberto Martinez instantly signalling for him to be substituted.

The condition of the playing field at the Stadion Grbavica would not have helped the situation with the muddy, wet conditions causing problems for a number of players.

It is a problem that Mourinho could have done without at this time, given that United's next Premier League game is a tricky trip to Anfield next Saturday to face Liverpool. With Paul Pogba already out injured, United have been forced to rely heavily on former Everton man Fellaini, who has featured in eight games this season for the Red Devils.
