Chicharito given 'special permission' to miss Mexico qualifier vs. Honduras

West Ham's Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and PSV Eindhoven winger Hirving Lozano will both be absent for Mexico's World Cup qualifier against Honduras on Tuesday in San Pedro Sula.

Hernandez asked Mexico manager Juan Carlos Osorio and his coaching staff for a "special permission" because of a personal issue. There was no suggestion from the FMF statement as to the motives behind Hernandez's absence.

The 29-year-old striker hasn't been active on social media since Saturday, although he did appear on Saturday at the official announcement of the Mexican players' association.

Lozano suffered a dislocated right elbow in training last Saturday and will return to PSV to begin treatment, according to a statement from the Mexican federation (FMF). The 22-year-old equalized for El Tri in its match last Friday against Trinidad and Tobago, while Hernandez netted Mexico's second in its 3-1 World Cup qualifying victory. The PSV winger signed for the Dutch club from Pachuca last summer and has scored six goals in his first six Eredivisie games
