BARCELONA and JUVENTUS ANNOUNCES SQUAD FOR CHAMPIONS LEGUE OPENER

Barca & Juve Announce Squads for Champions League Opener The Champions League is back again and FC Barcelona return to the top European competition against Juventus, the team that eliminated them in the last edition. Ernesto Valverde announced the squad list to face the Italian team, and he emphasised the presence of Sergi Roberto who was absent against Espanyol. Barca Squad: Ter Stegen, Cillessen, Semedo, Piqué, Rakitić, Sergio, Denis, A. Iniesta, Suárez, Messi, Dembélé, Mascherano, Paulinho, Deulofeu, Jordi Alba, Sergi Roberto, André Gomes and Umtiti. Arda Turan, Alcácer and Rafinha will not play because of injury or illness. Vermaelen, Digne and Aleix Vidal have been left out. Juventus have also announced their squad. Notable absentees: Howedes, Chiellini, Khedira, Marchisio and Mandzukic are not included Squad: Buffon, Szczensny, Pinsoglio, De Sciglio, Benatia, Alex Sandro, Baarzagli, Augani, Pjanic, Matuidi, Asamoah, Sturaro, Bentancur, Merio, Caligara, Higuain, Dybala, Douglas Costa, Bernardeschi
