African Cup of Nation date changed

Afcon to be played in June/July and occasion to be challenged by 24 national teams

Sensational changes to the landmass' best rivalry on will be on the cards after proposals made at a symposium on the fate of the game on the mainland in Morocco on Wednesday.

The African Nations Cup finals is to be extended and its argumentative planning changed however its recurrence will stay at regular intervals while the African Champions League and African Confederation Cup will now keep running from August to May.

Moving the Nations Cup in January closes the club versus nation issue confronting African players based at clubs in Europe.

The competition is to be moved to June and July when every significant group are on a break.

It will now have 24 teams‚ a large portion of the enrollment of CAF in an offered to expand advertising and TV revenue‚ removing a leaf from the book of UEFA who did likewise with a year ago's European Championship in France.
